Images inspired by streambeds and riverbanks by Peggy McClure
6 Bridges Gallery is pleased to present “Tangled Bank,” photographs and mixed media that explore the edges and banks of small streams and rivers on view April 9 – May 18, 2019. There will be a reception on Saturday, April 13, 7-9 pm.
The waters of small streams and rivers teem with life – wild grasses and weeds, fallen leaves; small animals, unseen turtles, frogs and countless insects, all growing, feeding, and dying in a rich compost.
Strands of plastic are sometimes caught in the weeds – and in the camera lens – a reminder of the threats to this ecological balance.
Peggy McClure may, as Darwin writes, “contemplate an entangled bank” and the riot of life there, but what she captures are the lines, reflections, water riffles, and the wild tangles.
