6 Bridges Gallery is pleased to present “Splish, Splash and Pour” photographs by Julie Smith L’Heureux from May 19th through June 26th, 2021. There will be a virtual artist reception on Saturday, June 5th 7:00-8:00pm. This show will be a Mini exhibit for those who missed it during the height of the pandemic in 2020.
The exhibit includes photographs of foods and liquids in motion. The photographs capture the liquids as they splash and dance and create exotic shapes. Liquids are presented from a perspective the viewer may never see in reality. In addition, there are images that capture food in motion by splashing, pouring, shaking and dropping. The world is not stagnant and gravity is always there; Julie wanted to illustrate the cause and effect of these physical properties through her fine art photography. Photographing motion and pushing herself to try new mediums and methods have always fascinated her.
In addition to her fine art photography, Julie owns a photography business, JLHEUREUX Photography, providing portraits and commercial photography, and has a studio at ArtSpace in Maynard. She has studied with many teachers, New York Institute of Photography and workshops. Her main influences for food and still life photography are other food photographers as well as painters such as the Dutch masters and Georgia O’Keefe.
