Pretty early on I knew I wanted to be an Illustrator. To me it’s more of a problem solving way of creating images than a purely expressive method of making Art. I was always happier making art based on an assignment than one with no requirements.
I grew up near here and made my way through MassArt, UMass Amherst and finally Syracuse trying to learn the technical skill I needed to know to become an illustrator. While marriage and family became my primary focus I still held onto that dream. When my youngest left for college I was able to give the effort everything I had. That dream came true in 2015.
I’ve lived in Maynard since 1993 and worked from my studio at ArtSpace Maynard since 2001. I’ve painted various murals and objects indoors and outdoors all over Maynard.
I am involved with The New England Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, as a coordinator of the Greater Boston Illustrators’ Group. I am represented by Christy Ewers of The CAT Agency.
