“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” ― Ansel Adams

I am a digital photographer who concentrates in still life, landscapes, and portraits. When I make an image it is more than what the viewer sees. I interject my ideas of what is important through the use of light, shadows, color and clarity. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination. I create an image that may be different than what the viewer saw when they looked at a subject. I create this new reality with my camera, through the use of light, and with digital creativity using Lightroom and Photoshop.

I try to establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver. With a subtle minimalistic approach, I create work in which a fascination with the clarity of content and an uncompromising attitude toward conceptual and minimal art can be found.

Julie L’Heureux currently lives in Acton and has her studio in Maynard, MA. You can see more of her work at her website:  JLHEUREUXPHOTOGRAPHY.COM
